Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada · The road that stays with you.
The Cabot Trail is the scenic highway that loops around northern Cape Breton Island, climbing through Cape Breton Highlands National Park and dropping back to the sea at fishing villages and Acadian communities. On a private tour you see it from the passenger seat, with time to stop wherever the view deserves it.
Tours depart from Sydney, Nova Scotia — from your hotel, the cruise terminal or another agreed pickup point. The full loop makes a long day, so we talk through how much of the Trail you want to cover and plan a route that fits your schedule.
A starting point for your day. Final stops depend on your available time, the weather and attraction opening hours.

The loop is roughly 300 km, and getting there from Sydney adds about an hour each way. With stops, a full loop is a long day, so many visitors choose a section of the Trail instead. We confirm realistic timing when we plan your route.
Usually only part of it. Most Sydney port calls don’t leave enough time for the full loop, but a shorter Cabot Trail or Bras d’Or route can work on a longer port day. Tell us your arrival and all-aboard times and we’ll advise honestly.
Anywhere agreed in the Sydney area, including hotels, private accommodation and the Sydney cruise terminal. Other pickup points in Cape Breton can be discussed.
