NATURE & OUTDOORS · CAPE BRETON
Established in 1936, Cape Breton Highlands National Park protects a large part of the highland plateau at the northern end of the island. The Cabot Trail runs through it, connecting dramatic cliffs on the Gulf side with river valleys and beaches on the Atlantic side.
The park offers some of the best views on the island without strenuous hiking. Lookouts along the road, short walks to waterfalls and viewpoints, and the famous Skyline Trail give every level of walker something worthwhile.
