TOWNS & VILLAGES · CAPE BRETON
Baddeck is a small village on the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake, about an hour west of Sydney. It sits where the Cabot Trail begins and ends, which makes it a natural stop on any northern Cape Breton itinerary.
Alexander Graham Bell spent his summers here for decades, and the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site tells the story of his work on flight, hydrofoil boats and sound. The waterfront, boat trips on the lake and a relaxed main street add to the appeal.
